New York, September 17, 2012 –– Sudler & Hennessey, one of the leading global healthcare communication agencies, is pleased to announce that Rob Rogers, co-‐CEO, the Americas, has been selected to receive the 2012 CLIO Healthcare Lifetime Achievement Award, to be presented at the 4th annual CLIO Healthcare Awards event on November 13, 2012, in New York City.
Rob was nominated by more than 120 peers from around the globe, including Mumbai, Zurich, Sao Paulo, Sydney, San Francisco, New York, Shanghai, Toronto, London, Barcelona, Lisbon, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. The 45 judges determining the winner support CLIO’s belief that the people who do the work have to judge the work. “These leading creatives voted Rob as the runaway winner, and ultimate creative and craftsman, who has created a lifetime legacy of work. Rob is the quintessential creative who has earned the respect of the industry with a long career of award-‐winning success. This award is granted to those who are at the peak of
their career, not at the end of it,” stated Karl Vontz, Director, CLIO Awards.
The CLIO Healthcare Awards, considered the “Oscars of Advertising,” will be hosted by Dr. Travis Stork, and Rob will be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award by Jed Beitler, Chairman and CEO Worldwide of Sudler & Hennessey.
According to Jed Beitler, “We are both very proud and very privileged to have someone with Rob’s unique talent leading our business and global creative efforts. He approaches his work thoughtfully and with incredible imagination, and has that unspoken quality of inspiring all who work with him. And he’s simply a great guy to be around. Rob is most deserving of this award.”
An accomplished artist who’s had successful gallery showings of his work as well as a life-‐long rock ’n’ roller who still leads Sudler’s in-‐house band, “Late Nite Car Service”, Rob actually began his career in the art department at S&H Sydney. After producing
award-‐ winning work (including a project that won a CLIO), he built his own agency, Rogers Riggs, which he subsequently
sold to Grey. Joining Grey Healthcare as Chief Creative Officer in 2000, he continued creating thought-‐provoking and award-‐winning campaigns for blockbuster brands. In 2003, he rejoined Sudler, leading the Asia Pacific region for 5 years before returning to the US as co-‐CEO, and where he continues to successfully lead the Americas, providing clients with creative strategic solutions amid the challenging healthcare landscape. Adept at using his “ideas firstˮ philosophy, Rob leads teams to find solutions for a myriad of products, from ultra-‐orphan drugs to mega brands. As Sudler’s Global Creative Evangelist, Rob fosters an environment of inspirational and multichannel curiosity. He may have wandered far from home, but his heart has never strayed very far from creativity: he enjoys art, woodworking, and spending time with his children; he is a cycling advocate, and he still gets an occasional gig playing rock ’n’ roll.
Healthcare accounts for more than one-‐third of the US gross national product and has become one of the most visible sectors of advertising, promotion, and creative design in the last few years, particularly on television and online; however, healthcare advertising is regulated differently and more stringently than traditional advertising and promotion.
The CLIO Healthcare Awards, an extension of The CLIO Awards, one of the world’s most recognized award competitions for advertising, design, and communications, will be conferred using the same rigorous standards and commitment to excellence as the CLIO Awards.
