Sudler & Hennessey (S&H) is a WPP company and therefore abides by the WPP Ethics and Corporate Responsibility guidelines and WPP Code of Business Conduct.
Below are two important sections to consider: (i) Ethics & (ii) Corporate Responsibility.
Successful marketing can change opinions and influence behaviour. It is a powerful tool and brings important responsibilities.
Our company reputation and that of our clients depends on us meeting high ethical standards in all our work. All marketing produced by WPP companies should present products fairly and accurately, comply with relevant laws and marketing codes, and reflect changing public attitudes regarding questions of taste or decency and the marketing of sensitive products. This includes not producing work for our clients that overstates the environmental performance of the company or brands.
We assess the ethical issues that can arise in connection with the markets in which we operate, the clients for whom we work, and the campaigns we undertake and consider high-risk cases before accepting new commissions.
In addition, our research and digital marketing agencies manage privacy and data protection issues when collecting, using and storing consumer information.
We recognise the need for internal communication to ensure that everyone, irrespective of sector or geography, understands the ethical and business objectives in the WPP Code of Business Conduct. We have internet-based training modules covering bribery, corruption and ethics to provide guidance in making the right decisions and acting in accordance with the code.
Our anti-bribery training course was launched in 2010 as part of our continued activity in this area. It is available on our intranet and is mandatory for all employees. Additional face-to-face training is being rolled out to all senior managers.
Our ethics course strengthens our internal processes for assessing risks associated with client work. The course covers the key areas of our Code of Conduct using scenarios to help employees identify and respond appropriately to ethical issues, including those associated with client work. The course is mandatory for all employees.
S&H, as part of WPP, believes our business can make a positive contribution to society and the environment by managing our activities with care and by working with responsible organisations that promote social and environmental causes.
We comply with the following Corporate Responsibility Policy requirements and report S&H’s performance to WPP on a quarterly basis:
S&H will respect the environment by minimising their impact from:
In addition, our CEO is required to sign a statement each year confirming compliance with our Code of Conduct.
Employees can report any concerns or suspected cases of misconduct in confidence through our third party-managed Right to Speak facility, overseen by our internal audit department. A Right to Speak phone number is available to all employees worldwide and is publicised through induction packs, the Group intranet and the WPP Policy Book available on our Group intranet.
